Nástroje na kola a pneumatiky

Maintain safety, grip, and fuel efficiency with our various wheel and tyre tools. Whether you need to check the tread depth and pressure, or reinflate a deflated tyre, we have the right tool for you. At Cromwell, we have a wide range of wheel and tyre tools from a range of well-known brands such as PCL®, Milwaukee®, Draper®, and our own exclusive brand Kennedy®.

Why wheel & tyre tools?

Your wheels and tyres are your point of contact with the road, and this makes them paramount in the safety and handling of your car. There is a legal minimum tread level for tyres so tread depth gauges allow measurement of the tyre tread levels, allowing your car to drive safely on the road. Fully topped up tyre pressures not only increase fuel efficiency, but also improve traction so should not be overlooked.

Wheel & tyre tool types

There are many different wheel and tyre tools available with varying capabilities. We have explained the uses of some of them below to help choose the perfect tool for your needs.

Tread Depth Gauge   -   These tools allow you to check the tread depth across the face of the tyre to ensure you have safe tread levels when driving.

Tyre Inflator   -   Tyre inflators allow you to increase the air pressures within your tyres to get them back up to safe levels.

Tyre Pressure Gauge   -   These tools allow you to quickly check the pressures within your tyres without filling them up.

Wheel Chocks   -   Wheel chocks allow you to safely hold the car in place when working on it.

FAQs

Why do under inflated tyres increase fuel consumption?

Under inflated tyres will start to sag, meaning that more tyre will contacting the road than necessary. This in turn increases the rolling resistance of the tyre, and requiring more power from the engine to turn. Under inflated tyres could increase fuel consumption by up to 10% so it is important to keep tyres at the car's required pressure rating.

What is the minimum legal tyre tread depth?

The legal minimum tyre tread depth varies between vehicle types. For most cars, the minimum trad depth is 1.6mm in a continuous band across the entire circumference of the tyre. A tyre tread gauge is a handy tool to keep in the car to periodically check the tyre tread and make sure your car is safe on the road.
